Healthy Recipes

When you combine your workouts with eating healthy you will see the results much quicker.  Get fit and eat healthy with some of these recipes.

Spinach and Feta Omelet

4 egg whites

1/2 c. fresh or frozen spinach

1oz. reduced fat feta cheese

Spray skillet with a no calorie cooking spray and sautee spinach over medium heat.

Pour egg whites over top.  When egg whites are almost done add the feta and fold in half and let the omelet cook completely through.

Awesome Salad

2 c. baby spinach

1 tbsp. sliced almonds

small handful of mandarin oranges, strawberries and cumcumbers

1/4 c. chopped roasted chicken (pre-cooked from the store is sometimes the easiest)

Throw everything in a bowl and shake until it is all mixed together.  Use two tablespoons of fat free balsmic or raspberry vinaigrette to top it off.

Whole Wheat Pizza

100% whole wheat pizza dough

Low-fat pizza sauce

Part Skim Mozzarella cheese

Whatever healthy toppings you want!  Green peppers, mushrooms, onions, pineapple, tomatoes, olives (go lightly)

Preheat oven according to the temperature on the package of dough

Rollout dough, lightly coat the dough with sauce, sprinkle with cheese and load with healthy toppings.

Bake and enjoy!  Slice the pizza into proportional sizes and save the rest for the next day.

Chocolate Pudding Dessert

Jell-O Chocolate fat free, sugar free instant pudding mix

skim milk

handful fresh strawberries

Mix the skim milk and Jell-O instant pudding mix.  Wash and halve the strawberries.  Dish out individual servings of pudding.  Wrap the extra servings and put in the fridge.  Dip the strawberries in the pudding and enjoy a delicious healthy dessert.
